Overview
John R. Edwards, Jr. concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate and business transactions and litigation. Mr. Edwards’ extensive real estate background includes the representation of banks and mortgage banking firms, title companies and other business clients in complex financing, loan reviews, the transfer of land for development and commercial purposes, zoning applications and commercial leasing. He further assists clients in the formation of business entities, business planning, and a wide variety of contractual matters. Mr. Edwards also handles complex financial and real estate litigation, including business disputes, large scale title disputes, governmental challenges, and mortgage and tax foreclosures.
Mr. Edwards has been published in the New Jersey Law Journal, and lectured for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, The National Business Institute, and the New Jersey Mortgage Banker’s Association. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association, and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
Mr. Edwards received his law degree, with honors, from New York Law School. At New York Law School, he was an editor of the International and Comparative Law Journal and won the American Jurisprudence Prize for Contracts. Mr. Edwards also served a student clerkship for the Honorable Mary Johnson Lowe in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Upon graduation from law school, he clerked full time for the Honorable Frederick W. Kuechenmeister in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
